This Red 1970 Chevelle SS 396 is a true head-turner, boasting a recent 502/5-Speed conversion that takes its performance to the next level. Originally an SS car, this Chevelle now features a Chevrolet 502/502 Deluxe engine paired with a Tremec 5-Speed Manual Transmission, delivering exhilarating power and precision.
The engine is a fresh crate with aluminum heads, Headman headers, and a Be Cool aluminum radiator, ensuring excellent cooling and circulation for optimal performance. The shifting is fast and precise thanks to the fresh Tremec 5-Speed manual transmission with .65 overdrive top gear and gear starter. The rear-end is a 12-bolt posi-traction with 3.40 gears and a Mosler steel axle, complemented by Jegs traction bars for enhanced stability.
Riding on 15-inch Super Sport steel wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich radial T/A tires (295/50R 15’s in the rear and 225/60R 15’s upfront), this Chevelle commands attention on the road. Despite its performance upgrades, all systems are in working order, though the speedometer may require a new adaptor to accommodate the new 5-speed transmission.
